shutter speed
The duration of time for which the shutter of a camera remains open when exposing photographic film or other photosensitive material to light for the purpose of recording an image.

Shutter speeds are usually measured in seconds or fractions of a second, and are typically arranged in a sequence that includes 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/15 , 1/30 , 1/60 , 1/125 , 1/250 and 1/500.
