A tax formerly paid on all chimneys in England. See chimney money. Thursday, January 31. Complaint was made by Sir William Frankland, and others, of the irregular proceeding of the Collectors of the Chimney-money, and the sending for Gentlemen up to the Council-table to answer accusations from them; especially in Mr Robert Pierpoints Case.
